The Central Jersey Church of Christ held its annual International Service yesterday, Sunday, March 6. The congregation celebrated its diversity, consisting of disciples from 37 nations. There was special music, a message about our call to unity across racial and ethnic barriers and a presentation of the flags from some of the nations that make up our local congregation. Several of us noted the absence of a Brazilian flag, so we'll have to get a flag and a volunteer for next year! For my part, I read in Portuguese from Psalm 67, taking my turn after brothers who read in a few other languages. After service there was a potluck meal with many types of food. This Midwestern boy represented his home territory with green bean casserole.

There was music and quite a few of the younger people danced, including my daughter (and my wife...she's young!). Sorry for the grainy quality of the photos. They were taken on my Blackberry.
